how do I attach the clip when reinstalling the trim and lever? ok I have found the answer duh! after installing the clip in the slots of the recline lever just push the lever onto then splined shaft and the clip will lock onto it once you have pushed it to the end of the splined section! sorry was overthinking it I guess!

It seemed borderline impossible to me -- probably some special tool required -- so I just left it off. The lever holds in place fine without it, and future removal is infinitely easier. I don't know why they didn't just use a set screw on the end of the lever. Put a cap over it if it needs to be concealed because luxury.

so simple to remove it, but you have to approach it from the bottom of the lever (flip the seat on its side) and use a longer thin flat screwdriver and it will pop right out

now before I start breaking things does anyone know if the passenger seat back is identical to the drivers as far as the covers? having that I could possibly swap the passenger cover which is in way better shape with the drivers for the time being?
