Default Tips on painting an SC

I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions for our cars when prepping for paint.

Some of the trim edges seem particularly difficult for taping. So far the only piece I have off is the front bumper but I was going to take off the side skirts and side moldsings (97+) but I was going to leave the back bumper and valances.

The car is only getting a pretty light base coat being that its staying the same color. I'd like to avoid making any of the common mistakes with the SC so I don't create any problems.

Be sure to break the finish on all edges, should remove as much trim as you can, Spoiler ECT. Paint will begin to peel, Clearcoat from any edge surface it doesn't have good bonding to.

Dude,

Painting an SC300/400 is the same as any other vehicle. It's all in the preparation. As the previous poster mentioned, removing as much of the trim as possible is important in the long-term. Both bumper covers should be removed and sprayed off of the car. It means a lot more time overall and you risk breaking brittle parts, but a good paint job demands it.

Good luck
