Bigger center console cup holder

Bigger center console cup holder
I searched but only came up with alternative uses of cup holder. I just got the SC400 and had hard time to figure out how to mod the center console cup holder bigger. I am a hardcore coffee drinker and must have my coffee in the morning on the way to work. Yes. I tried to look for smaller mug but the smallest mug still won't fit in the holder. My current coffee mug only fit 1/8 of an inch inside the holder which I had to force it in. I almost got free hot coffee stains this morning (three times) on my pants.
I found the alternative cup holder that hang on the inside of the door. I'll quit drinking coffee before I have that "thing" in the SC.
Have anyone came up with an idea yet? I would be appreciated that you can show me your idea.
Thank you,
Tyler

After a few years of trying to use the center console upholder I finally bought a pricey used but very functional OEM side-radio cupholder that folds out. It's not perfect but it's a much better solution than the center console holder and it folds away when not in use.
Then again I have a manual and find I can't shift as confidently when a cut of coffee is banging my forearm. This is a much less pronounced issue on automatic SC's.
With the side-radio fold out holder I still firmly believe you need a coffee travel cup that seals very well. Again, maybe not a problem with SC's on a soft stock suspension.

If I was a serious coffee drinker I would try a short strip of heavy duty velcro on the passenger side of the console and a strip on the cup. If the velcro contact patch on the rounded cup was too thin, I'd mod the cup to have a small flat section.
Heavy duty velcro is no joke. It can hold a small human up on a wall. Don't ask me how I know ;-)

you could shave the cup holder down, then reinforce from behind with some fiberglass or liquid nails. just a though. i can do it for you with my old one, no lid though

I drink redbull 8.4oz and I'm sick of it sliding around in the big azzz hole. Is there a smaller solution???
When I made my shifter surround in the rx7 I made a redbull sized cup holder and a Newport pack sized holder. See attached, don't have finished pics but here is a near finished product
