Lol great to hear, now only if every SC owner who gets in an accident can have the same fortunate circumstances as you regarding insurance companies. Great job on getting more aswell, congrats.... Nice score

You settled very well with your insurance company on a 20+ year old car with that kind of mileage. Speaks very well of how great SC's are! I think you would agree. You should have absolutely no problem finding a nice SC to replace it with. As with any used car purchase, I HIGHLY recommend a PPL inspection by someone who really knows these cars, it's one of the smartest things you can ever do. Also, the more maintenance/history records that come with the car the better, along with a Carfax report to. You might try purchasing from a forum member as well. Most of us know these cars inside and out. Good luck on your search, and if you get another SC, make sure you let us know.

I have decided to negotiate with the insurance company to get a higher price. Like I said, I'm coming up with a number around $5800 and they are saying $4900. But hey, $900 is $900. The reason why our numbers are so different. . . .
There are only 2 sc300's for sale within a 100 mile radius of where I live. They "expanded" their search to encompass 150 miles instead. So now they have 4 cars.

I'm sorry, but 4 cars is hardly enough to take and accurate average to determine price for a car this rare.

I however, expanded my search. 1000 miles. 2000 miles. 3000 miles. Who cares. My car has 176,000 miles on it. Not 225,000. And to be fair not 67,000 either. I will be sharing these thoughts with my insurance company.

More to follow.

Oh yeah! I am TOTALLY going to buy it back for the $500. Probably sell it. Buy a new one but WHITE!
in 150 miles there was 4 sc's? that sounds like a bunch of bs to me..

One option would be to buy it back from the insurance company, Then buy another one and swap parts till the new one is as good as you can get it. Then sell off the rest as parts.

Since you're in Diego, take the SC to TJ. You'll have it good as new for a few hundred.
