Since you have a SC, I would probably go NA-T to meet your power goals of 300-350whp...which can be easily done? I would probably start with a engine refresh, TT head gasket, upgraded injectors to start. You could easily pick up a complete turbo kit or piece together one. Invest in an EMS, and get a tune. I would also address the suspension and handling department, followed by a LS4 BBK upgrade. All these items can be transfered or parted out if you decide to change vehicles. Sure your SC might not look stellar, but the heart of it will be STRONG. (sleeper). You could always later upgrade to 97+ parts? Looking at it like this: Would you rather have a SC that runs, handles, and brakes on que. Or would you rather have a SC that looks goods, and runs like crap? Either way, wish you all the best. Post up some pics, when you get a chance?
Congrats, on becoming a more fit, healthier YOU!

Thanks for all the input guys! I was thinking of paint/97-00 conversion first, think it makes more sense look right before having power! Suspension is good I recently lowered on TT supra Tanabe GF210 springs w/agx adjustable shocks. I really didn't consider going NA-T just b/c i've heard it's alot more money than basically swapping to a 1jz, but isn't there a XS turbo kit for like $1300 and you have to buy intercooler piping/exhaust/electronics and your set? Or do u still have to upgrade to a TT Supra Headgasket, ECU, tranny, and arp headstuds?
As for diet, i'm studying to be a dietician right now so I tweek my diet ever 2 wks but for the most part its low cal/low carb. I eat 5-6 small meals a day lean meats (Turkey, fish, chicken, salads, roast beef, bison meat) plently of veggies/fruits, brown rice baked/sweet potatoes. I only drink water and tea throughout the week. I work out hard a good 6 days a week twice a day (cardio in the morning/lifting at night). I give myself one cheat meal a week and that's anything i want and i usually make that my beer drining night as well (I had BWW last night!!!!! so F***ing good! :P)

Engine swap all the way....paint can come later....
I will probably never repaint my car......once you get the turbo bug all you want is it to go faster!!!
The way I look at it is.....car is meant to driven it isnt a show car

Congrats on the great weight loss. If I may humbly offer a bit of advise, concentrate on your competition more and how you would spend the prize money less. Get that WIN first man. Don't spend money mentally before you have it in your hand or you open yourself to potential disappointment.
GOOD LUCK!
