.40 is too much gap. what are you trying to do? fly a plane thru the spark plug?

bring it down to .24-.28

mine are gapped at .18

if you are running higher than stock boost levels. you will blow the spark out.

^^ this. I have my Denso copper plugs gapped at .28 and runs just fine on stock twins and slightly upped boost levels. Gap them down and go from there. Also for idle try cleaning out the idle air control valve with some throttle plate cleaner and reset your ECU (disconnect neg. batt. cable for an hour) to see if that helps

Mine are gapped at .25. I was also told this is because the sign of weak or going bad coils. My car runs good and idles great. I cleaned the parts mentioned above also before I put the motor in the car. I am running 16 on low boost and 21 on high for now. They are paper bag brown across all 6 last pulled out.

Well found out what the problem was. It turns out that it was a coil pack that was cutting out at high rpms. Luckly I had a friend who had a set of 6 that I could get.

Default Yay for updates!!!!

Its been awhile but here are some updates on my swap.

1) I have still not figured out why it wont start in the mornings when it gets cold.
2) I Have installed 550cc injectors with resistor pack from a 2jz.
3) Installed some Glow Shift Gauges*Boost*AFR*and Water Temp
4) Installed a Map3ECU and did a drive around tune running 15lbs of boost
5) The starter went out in it, replaced it with a 2jz-ge one but now its not dis-engauging right so it makes a grinding noise for a sec.
6) Replaced the old crappy PCV Valve
7) Installed the new Greddy ProFec Boost controller, the one with the LCD screen.

I think thats it but im sure ill forget something.

Oh yeah this is soemthing that i forgot to mention.

I was side swipped by some stupid women who was not paying attention while driving. She acted like she was gonna run, which i was hoping she would so i could chase her down, but she didnt. The damage wasnt to bad but enough to get me really pissed off. She hit me on the passenger side, i have to replace the passenger door and get the rear quarter panel fixed, She also dinged up my rear rim but not to bad.

Ill post some pics when i get home.

I was thinking of Plasti-Dipping the car when i get the body fixed. Do you guys think i should or save up and get the whole car re-sprayed?

Also, im still haveing issues with start up in the morning when the car is cold. It just doesnt want to start right away. Now i have changed the starter out bc that old one burned out on me, and ive changed the coolant temp sensor. All of this has helped some but i still have to crank the more a 15-20 seconds, if its warm outside. There was one day where it took me 2 HOURS, yes 2 HOURS to get it started. I have read that it might be the crank, cam or MAP sensor's. Can n e one confirm this for me please before i spend a lot of money for these sensors if i really dont have to.

Spool come in kinda late. Around 4400 or so. But when it does,it comes in strong. I also BC cm as 264'S to help at higher rpms. I chose this turbo for future upgrades if I needed them. Plenty of room left on this bad boy.
