Illegality

Hi im new to the forum!!

Unfortunatley my first post is a problem with my newly acquired lexus

anyways i was noticing a misfire while driving occasionally so i started to investigate some possible culprits.. come to find out that the tip of the Distributor rotor had broken off inside the cap( amazing the car still ran ) so of course i replace the rotor knowing that it was the source of my problems...

well it wasnt... after I finished i tried starting my car and it shook like crazy, and sounded like it had trouble firing, i gave it some gas and it fired up... anyways i never had the shakey start before so i turn the car off and look at the engien mounts suspecting one to be broken, they weren't. I looked online to find a way to diagnose a CEL that came on after the rotor change, jumped the t1 / e1 or what ever but the CEL just flashed constantly(i started the car and the Code 12 appeared magically)

so now im wondering what RPM signal mean?? what do i need to check?? any quick response would be great because my car is now dead in my driveway.

ok I just found out 2 things
