Embarassing creak when i pull up
i have a 96 sc3 with 145k on it and recently noticed that when i turn my steering wheel i hear a creaking sound coming from the front wheels. i checked my power steering fluid and its all good. also if i go over little bumps i hear it too. anyone have any ideas?

power steering rack bushings do wear out but the most common issue is upper lower control arm bushings(lower are more common to go first, and with 145k it's time to replace them imo)
If you search you can find a ton of info on the subject, Good Luck!

I had creaking on my SC back in 01 with 76k on it, and replaced all bushings with daizen polyurethane. Installed them 2003 at about 100k took the car up to 157k (2008) never had a creak or squeak for nearly 60k miles over the 5years.
When it was cold out it was worse.
Power steering bushings wear out too, and pumps die almost like clockwork at 90-110k
or start leaking at the very least. On there way out they like to scream for attention :-)

Torched the old bushings out, used a drill with a metal brush on it to clean the inside of the control arms till they were nice and shiny. No press was needed.

a wire wheel imo is required to do this job right. I can't remember what size but I could check. I think it was the 2" it fit tight and was perfect for cleaning out the old control arm bushing.
