457K and gave up the ghost (sort of)
I purchased my 1994 SC400 in 1995 with 19K miles on it (spruce/tan) and it's the best car I've ever owned. It finally died last Thanksgiving with 457,000+ miles. My mechanic says it probably could've been fixed. It appears oil leaking from the head gasket may have fouled the ignition/plugs on one bank. At the same time, there was a tiny leak that sprung from the radiator. Cost to repair both was about $2000. I debated for a while but finally decided after almost 20 years that it was time. Frankly, I was waiting for it to die so I could get a newer car. Ended up buying a 2000 SC400 with 112K - wow! The 94's engine was never touched. Of course, replaced peripherals: power steering pump rebuilt, two alternators, one radiator and rear shocks, timing belts/water pump, thermostat with overflow reservoir replaced, CD changer replaced. Frankly, I wasn't fastidious with maintenance and basically just changed the oil about every 6-7K miles over the last 200K miles. I know quite a few SC's have exceeded 500-600K. What a car...will miss it.

95 sc300 (5spd) with 125k on the clock... drivetrain-wise, i just now replaced the original clutch (that thing was SHOT)...
i have no reason to expect that i'm even near the expiration date of the engine/drivetrain... the thing has been driven the majority of the time by 2 people who baby the heck out of it (the original owner and my wife)... the only times it ever get exercised is when i drive it, and even then, it is gentle exercise...

ill post a pic soon but I bought a 1993 sc400 with 200k miles on it for $1400. Best decision ever. It's currently got 251k.
ive only had to replace the (stock) alternator and service the rack/pinion.

My 97 300 with 197k, my 98 400 got 198k and my 2000 sc400 with 141k, all 3 rides are driving fantastic, 98 is my daily, I beat the **** out of it and it hasn’t let me down ever, the other 2 scs are in the garage most of the time. The white one is my baby I take my lady out for dinners once a month in it. It turns heads and people throw thumbs up every time we’re out, I baby her on the road! S.C. 300 Black is still awaiting n/a t engine/manual trany swap, just for fun of it, I just want to go turbo, but part of me is saying don’t touch a perfectly running car
I don’t see myself driving any other brand because of reliability is amazing!! Lexus IS AMAZING!!!

Wow. Absolutely Amazing thread. I just purchased a 1998 SC300 with 171k miles yesterday and I can't wait to share updates in the future.
I already own a 2013 ES300 Hybrid and I was impressed how well the 98 SC drove comparing to the newer Lexus.
