Unhappy Renewed XM NAVTraffic on 2011 RX 450h

I just renewed my subscription to NAVTraffic. According to XM and my Navigation manual, an XM NAVTraffic selection should be seen on the Show on Map. I do not see this selection. FYI, I updated my Navigation database 6 months ago. Is anyone else having this problem?

Are you not getting the green and red traffic lines? If there was a lapse in service, you may need to call them and have them resend the XM signal to the vehicle

Default The 'Simple' car is getting it right

The new Honda's with the built in Nav systems which is pretty much all of the EX models and above offers everything FREE now and no subscriptions. And the traffic monitoring is even on the surface streets. I wonder how long before the other big manufactures will have this system. http://automobiles.honda.com/traffic...ffic.honda.com They get the signal through the FM portion of the new radios. It's not hard to figure it will have to come in a new model year with radios and nav systems configured entirely differently.

^^ This is already available on the newer Lexus models, like the new IS. The traffic doesn't come from XM but through the HD radio

It is not, unfortunately, the same on the '15 RX. The RX still uses the 7th generation Lexus navigation system (as does the LX). The other Lexus models are using the 8th generation system, which uses HD Radio for traffic and weather.

Those of us with RXs are stuck paying XM for traffic and weather.

I would assume the RX will get gen 8 on the 2016 redesign.

Yeah, unfortunately Lexus doesn't load the newest navigation into their cars by year but by redesign cycle. You will know you are using the newest generation when you have the little red dot as a cursor. So far, I think only the CT, IS, RC has the newest generation but there might be more

The whole list with gen 8 can be viewed here. And it's a micro SD card versus USB. I pay quarterly for traffic. Not much but it would be nice to get free.

The other really nice addition is you get the traffic conditions on the same surface streets your phone can get them. The new HD radio is a win/win. But it's not all cars. My 7th Gen Stingray has HD radio but the same traffic and weather system we have in the RX . I have to 'buy' on that one too. It's included in my annual all access charge. But I got a deal at better than 1/2 off.
