Default XM or Sirius for the 2007 RX

I have seen in the Navigation manual of the 2007 RX that at least the XM radio will use the NAV screen (if equipped). I have read a lot of talk about using other vehicle models satellite radio but have been warned not to do that. I also don't know that they would have all the necessary features to work with the new gen of nav.

Does anyone have any concrete information on XM or Sirius and when they will be available for the 2007 model?

I heard spring of this year for XM, and summer for Sirius. I'd prefer Sirius but now that I have no satellite radio in the car I'm desparate.

I don't want to go aftermarket if I can get decent integration and avoid another clunky device on my dash.

Thx....

I got XM in my RX350 that I purchased a couple of weeks ago. It works very well. I definitely recommend that you get the factory unit. The user interface is much nicer than after-market units.

So let me get this straight, you were able to buy the XM for the actual RX350 and you weren't installing something from an ES or older model?

I'm not seeing the XM parts listed anywhere, not even on lexus-parts.com. I'm still being told by everyone that satellite will be available "Summer 2006".

I really do want to go the Sirius route... but I don't want to wait for lexus to get their act together if its going to take them all summer long.

The XM unit I have is designed for the RX350 as far as I know. The interface is fully integrated into the nav display and the radio display. Incidentally, Lexus finally got the XM song info display right, with 16 characters per line. The XM unit in my '05 LS430 displays only 10 characters of the 16 being transmitted by XM.

One more comment: I have to really compliment Lexus on offering both XM and Sirius. Few other car makers give you a choice. (Off hand, I can't think of any that do.)
