2012 RX350, if I wanted to replace all the shocks...
Are there any "go to" aftermarket "upgraded" shocks that would give me a smoother ride? Or a "better" ride in any way?
Or is it just a simple trade old for new and be done with it situation?
Thanks, Dave

I'm interested in this thread because I have a feeling my rear shocks are the wrong ones.

Yes, I think there may have been a "secret" issue with rear shocks. I certainly cannot prove it, but in no car I ever had has an expansion joint in the road make me think I was driving a tank.

Koni makes great [adjustable] shocks, but I found none for the RX. In fact, I couldn't find any aftermarket struts, other than KYB. There might be a way to use stock struts as donors but I don't know how involved it would be.

I recall there are 3 types of factory rear shocks for the 2010 and later RX. I suspect they are made by either KYB or Tokico.
Regular Shocks - these may have changed in specification over the years since 2010. Thus any current replacement will reflect the current spec shocks.
Sport Package shocks (2010 - 2012) - These were a little stiffer.
F-Sport Shocks 2013-2015 - Apparently these are much stiffer
Regular will be the softest. All shocks wear out after so many years and miles. There have also been issues with the rear ones leaking. This is easily checked by looking at your rear shocks with a flashlight for any oil leaking around the shock body.

I will have them check my rear shocks next oil change, if not before. Would be nice to get it done under warranty. Seems strange that there are virtually no after market "upgraded" shocks for this car. Strange.
