Default Loose Lower Side Molding!!

Hi guys, I'm new here. I recently discovered that my lower side molding on my front passenger side door was loose while cleaning away some of the salt stains from the winter storm . I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it or do I need a replacement.

Thanks in advance

Without knowing what year RX you have, I would suggest finding out if it was a factory installed piece or perhaps the dealer. You may have warranty coverage on it but cannot confirm.
I put a set on our '10 last Summer & seems every third phrase in the directions was "clean surfaces well before application."

Is that the lower chrome strip on the exterior of the door? Hard to tell in the pics.

If that's the case, give the contact surfaces a good cleaning with 70% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), and apply a quality double-sided exterior/automotive tape - Fixed.

Look up body work supply stores in your area. It is possible that a local body shop will help you out, too. They sell this tape but do not know in what sizes. You can also get some industrial double sided tape at you local home improvement store but not sure it would be as good as what the body shops use.

If I were you I would just go to e-bay and type double sided tape-body side molding.

Any auto store will carry automotive grade 3M tape. I used it multiple times.

Tape is the way to go, just don't go cheap, the salt the city uses will eat through any low end stuff and you'll be back where you started, or worse.

3M automotive tape definitely good.

However, I've used the Lepage tape last couple years with great success on various home and automotive projects and it's very similar to the 3M's. On my RX, I taped the F-Sport badge on the rear 15 months ago and is still solidly glued like day 1 and this going through two winters, salt, dirt, etc. In fact the cheap Ebay knock-off badge is starting to rust and will probably disintegrate before the tape comes off! Similarly, I taped a similar badge on my IS (true OEM badge) 5 months ago and rock solid. In Canada, this is available at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, and Canadian Tire. Easy find, low cost (5-6$) and easy DIY

Most Napa's carry 3m auto grade double-sided tape. You might also try asking a local auto body repair shop to sell a foot or so.
