Back into my Garage Door
Took my wife to work yesterday and my 2012 RX350 was parked close in the garage wall
for her to open up the passager side door.
She motion for me to back out first and the garage door wasn't competely open.....CRUNCH.
Fortunate for the RX, the bottom edge of the garage door hit the back window and saved any body work.
The garage on the other hand, kinked the bottom panel and pulled off about 3 feet of weather stripping.......................

My mom backed out with the back door open on a ML430 back in 2000. The insurance company actually totaled out the car due to frame damage as even after 2 weeks in the body shop the door couldn't close smoothly without slamming it and every time you pulled the release it would jump open. I learned that lesson close the door when getting out of the car.

Been there, Done that, and done that again
Years ago, closing the back door on my ML I caught the garage door emergency release cord in the rear door. The door came down in the middle of the roof- minor cosmetic damage. I bent the bottom two panels of the garage door. Could not figure out a way to blame my wife. More recently, the opener control unit has not been working correctly - it randomly opens or closes the door. One day coming out of the garage, it just closed on the top of the Highlander. No damage - reverse mechanism worked fine. Now with our new 13-RX350, we are very cautious with every use of the controller.
