OK, Enough with the Beeping
I was in my driveway today washing my black 2012 RX 350.
While as I was washing, it kept beeping, like the same beeping sound you get when
you lock and unlock the doors.
Sometime one beep, followed by two beeps etc.
I did have my fob in my jean pocket.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON, AND WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN??
It drove the nuts..........

No, I don't play soccer!
Sounds about right. Same thing can happen when spraying the front door handles. Just be happy you didn't accidentally open the windows/moonroof or tailgate, if programmed.

Don't Keep Key in Pocket When Washing
I have found that the spray from water will cause the door to lock or unlock, depending on its current status. I have experienced the same thing with our Toyota Pruis that also has touch-sensitive door handles for locking and unlocking.
I have found when I am washing the car it's just better to leave my key somewhere away from the immediate vicinity of the car.

I leave my key in the garage while I am washing it outside of the garage. Same thing happens when my wash mitt goes over the buttons. What is worse is that I have my auto folding mirrors set so in addition to the beeping, the mirrors keep folding in and out

Thanks Lexus brothers and sisters, I don't realize how water and wash mitts can cause so much beeping.
Those RX 350's are like small baby's, there trying to tell us something, and we're not under standing.

That's the right advice. Leave the key back in the garage when you wash your car. I put a hook up exactly for that purpose. ...and in case anyone thinks this "beeping while washing" thing is unique to Lexus, it's not. Had the same thing with my BMW. It's what we get with today's keyless door technology.
