What is the beeping I hear when I wash around the front of my car. 2019 Lexus 350.

Fob in your pocket? Leave it in the house.

Was the car still on? My Camry will beep if I get out and close the doors with the car running.

No, car was not on. This happens also when just rinsing the car off too without touching it. Fob is in the car.

When water hits the door handle sensors, it thinks you're trying to lock/unlock them. As mikemu30 said, keep the fob away from the vehicle while washing to eliminate this issue.

Good advice. When I washed and waxed the car this past weekend I unlocked and locked the doors quite a few times. Next time I'll unlock the doors and put the fob out of range...

When you unlock the car for the wash be sure to do it from the inside door handle unlock button...
if you unlock it from the fob and do not open any door for (default) 60 seconds it will re-lock the car.

Intention is that if you inadvertently press the fob unlock the car will not stay unlocked.

Usually when you wash around the door handles, right? That's just the car locking or unlocking. Remember that every time you touch that little indention on the handle, the doors lock. and when you reach inside the handle, the door unlocks. Hence the beeps. The advice to set your keys aside while washing is good advice.

The beeping is just the sound of your car telling you how much it loves the bath!

If you are very adamant and want to keep the keys within the car's radio waves radius, you could put the FOB into Battery Saving Mode, it turns off the radio waves to save battery and it won't detect the door handles anymore, and thus eliminating the beeping while washing. I would just keep it in your pocket and not in the car because you can lock yourself out of the car when Battery Saving Mode is active.

While pressing and holding down the lock button, double-click the unlock button. You should see the light on the keyfob flash twice (one for each time you pressed unlock) and then two more flashes after that to confirm it's enabled.

You may also want to make sure that your windshield wipers are not set on the auto mist mode. Just have it in the neutral position.

Or, don't wash the car while it's running.

Yeah, it’s as crazy as it sounds. If you’re washing your car with the key in your pocket or it’s sitting in the car, and the car is off, for me, the beep will happen when you start washing your car. It happened to me. Apparently when I took the car for its 5K service, they pushed the windshield wiper control down into into the auto-mist detent. Simple fix. Just push it back up into the neutral position and you can wash your car with no beeps as the water hits the windshield. No other unexplained beeps while washing car to date. : )
