AWD rides better than FWD

Wow, only 7.5k miles that's nothing.. hahah, I do that much in about 5 months (road trips add up, especially when you take one every month..lol ) . Do you primarily drive another car?

The RX is my primary car. Funny, I enjoy driving it more than any car I have owned and I end up driving less miles. Someday maybe that will change and I won't mind if it does.

News flash! The RX350 is not a smooth riding vehicle. For some reason Lexus
thought that salom speed was more important than a smooth quiet luxury
ride. They screwed up by not offering a softer suspension for those buyers
who are not interested in slightly better handling for the harsh ride. It is better tho if you put 300 pounds(sand in my case) in the rear. Of course the better ride only lasted from the home depot to my home. If you're looking for a luxury ride, it's not the RX.

I went from a 2010 RX to a 2013 RX. Both had the same tires and are FWD. The first thing that I noticed about the 2013 was the smoother ride. Maybe the ride was better starting with the 2011's. ??

Is your RX the F sport version? The F sport version's ride is atrocious I've heard.
To OP,
Personally I don't think AWD and FWD would make the ride quality any different.
The reason why I got the AWD is because I don't want a FWD car...I know it sounds stupid but hey, that's just me

terrible riding
Had a KIA Sorrento and the ride was not good. I finally purchased a 2010 RX . I swear the ride is the same or worse than the KIA. The RX has 19" wheels with Dunlop tires and does not have sport suspension, etc. Another beef I have is the lack of button lighting on the upper front panel and various other place.
Anyone else have similar feelings?

My guess: the extra weight of the running gear in the back (rear diff and stuff) may make the car more balanced in terms of handling....
as for the handling, I can tell you for sure that it handles better than the Gen 1 RX which I still drive.

mollygirl5, welcome to CL. I suggest you search the forum regarding the issues you mentioned. They're both discussed extensively. We have this thread about the suspension. And there's a few about the lack of lights like this one here. So no, you're not alone. But many have made changes to help. They're in the threads mentioned. And check your tire pressure.
