2010 RX 450h Running Light problems
Hi , first post on this site, as I just purchased a 210 RX 450H from Wisconsin and brought it back to Canada. In order to pass the safety in Canada the running lights have to be on at all times and cannot be disabled by going into the computer system. On this car you can go in and disable so therefore it did not pass the safety. I had to take it to my Lexus dealership and they somehow
bi-passed the switch and disabled it electronically so that they could not be turned off. This cost me $300.00 which is no big deal as I saved a lot of money buying it in the US. The problem is that it has done something to my high beams as they have randomly go on and off now. Has anyone experienced this or are there any experts that could explain what is going on. Thanks I look forward to hearing from anyone .

executive matchup
auto high beam is an option on the 2010 RX450h. it automatically goes on high beam at night when there are no traffic coming towards you (ie: it detects on coming headlights and turns the high beam off to prevent glare).
you can turn the auto high beam off by moving the high beam stalk one click towards you.
edit: you can see this link for more details: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...igh-beams.html

No, I don't play soccer!
The easiest way to check if you have auto high beams besides looking for the big honking camera in front of the rear view mirror is to push the left stalk forward. The auto high beam light should come on. I believe in non-auto high beam equipped RXs, the stalk won't stay forward. Could be wrong.

So are awesome helpful people The above picture wasn't in the thread you posted.
It stinks you have to fix the DRLs like that up north. And this is the first time the DRLs can easily be turned off in the RX Oh well, it's all for safe driving.
Tucker, I'd definitely bring your RX back to the dealer to have them fix the high beams. Best of luck and welcome to CL.

Thank-You
Thanks for everyone's help. This is a great site and look forward to being a part of it. I have the ultra premium package which I believe has mostly everything other then the DVD'S etc. By reading another forum I see that you can buy the rear seat DVD'S on the headrests for $600.00 which is awesome. I bought this car for my wife and she loves it! I am jealous as I drive a Acura MDX and to me the lexus is so much more refined. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Hi!
I also brought in a 2010 RX from California and I had to get a relay installed to keep the headlights on at all times. RIV are not happy with the fact that the DRL's can be turned off on the steering wheel stalk. Cost me $150.00 plus tax for the relay, passed the inspection at Canadian Tire. I don't understand why they don't just install them in all cars and SUV's now. It would sure help to see cars at all times.
Oh yes, my RX was built in Cambridge Ontario.
Cheers,
Jim!
