4 inch long bolt puntured tire
Was driving yesterday and saw the tire pressure monitor issue a warning. The rear passenger side tire had 24 psi. I came out and saw a bolt head again the tread. I drove it to nearby tire store and they pulled it out. It was 4 inches long and about 1/3 inch diameter. The guy plugged it in 5 minutes and charged me $20. Now the tire was fine when i drove it on the highway home afterwards. I am just hoping it will last cuz the bridgestone 19inchers are expensive.

ziggy, glad you didn't have a blow out on the highway. Now that would have been expensive. The melting snow around here has revealed lots of little surprises. Be careful out there.

I had a nail similar to what you had taken out of one of the Goodyear tires on the 330. Took it to Goodyear and had it plugged. Held up fine for a year until I replaced the tires. You should be fine.

Tires are best patched from the inside. Ideally you want them to remove the tire from the wheel and apply a plug and patch from the inside, then remount the tire and re-balance the wheel.

Believe there are better tires (at a lower price) than the Bridgestones to consider for your next set of tires.

Larrs is right. The best way is to plug and patch. That is what my dealership did when I took mine in for a screw. The Dealership told me it is the best way to fix a tire. No problems. They fixed it for free.

been plugging my tires since i was 25yrs, i tend to be a magnet for flats
only has 1 plug fail & that was when the hole was too large for the plug
i do agree w/ others that an internal patch/plug is a better solution
the fact you got a 4" bolt in your tire is impressive, you didn't recently **** someone off did you

I'm not sure if all Lexus Dealerships fix flats for free or not. This is my first Lexus and so far I am very impressed with the service my Dealership has provided. I was very happy when they told me no charge.
