iPod Scrolling - FIXED
#31
Firmware Update to 3357 or higher, in Canada
... in any case, they fixed the scrolling problem! They even updated the nav firmware, etc. The menu looks slightly different now (darker blue). I'll post a photo and video of the scrolling shortly.
When I called last week, they said there wasn't an update but they fixed it this morning anyway so it's available now.
You should go back and try to get them to do it this time.

It says in my invoice that the cause is TSB 2648, firmware improvement. And that they applied a nav OS update.
Hope that helps.

If we get the 12.1 Nav update installed, does the new firmware that fixes the iPod scrolling come with it? Or is the 12.1 Nav update purely a maps update?
I recently bought a used 201, and I don'tt want to pay for the TSB, and the 12.1 Nav update, if the 12. Nav update will fix the iPod issue.

Early in the 2010 production cycle, some Lexus had difficulties with iPod scrolling. The car would "auto select" the topmost song in a list, hesitate and start playing the topmost song of the list. When you would scroll down the list, once again the car would pick the topmost song in the list, hesitate and begin paying that song. Later in the production cycle a navigation system firmware update enabled "proper" scrolling in which the current song would continue to play while you would scroll through the list and you would pick a song, which would then start playing.
Lexus has corrected iPod scrolling for some of those vehicles manufactured early in the production cycle. If you have "defective" or "abnormal" iPod scrolling, try contacting your service advisor as an update is available for some models and vintages of Lexus with navigation.
Thanks to all RXers who tested the update!!

Various dealers will probably charge different amounts. I brought my car in to get the new 13.1 Nav upgrade today. Since they were already going in there, they charged me $35.00 to install the LS-0039-09 update.

Ill give them a call.
Yeah, Im sure they will charge. They tried to charge me $135 to replace a simple blown fuse. I said ill do it on my own and they ended up doing it for free. There was a lady there that day also, in for the same thing and they charged her $75 bucks and she paid for it. I was shocked.

Sevn86. hopefully the dealer will do for free as goodwill. It's probably a minor update that takes no more than 15 minutes of their time. Let us know how you make out.

I am using a USB flash memory stick with mp3s on it. I plug it into the usb port in my RX350 2010 and it only plays the first two songs the rest of the songs it doesn't see. I usually put two disks on it as two big files as a workaround for this problem. Can anyone confirm if this fix anyhow affected the problem i am having...

Hi everyone,
Sorry to revive an old thread but I recently picked up a 2011 IS350 and it has the annoying iPod scrolling problem. Earlier comments in this thread suggested the suspect nav firmware was version x350 and that x35a would resolve the issue. My nav firmware is 4361 and disc version v13.10.10 which I'm guessing is newer than x35a yet the problem remains. Has anyone looked further into this in more recent times, particularly with a later model car?
I'm using the USB port in the car with an iPhone 4s running IOS 8.1.2.
FWIW I'm in Australia.
Cheers,
Dave

Sorry you're having problems. Of course, you're in the RX forums, so many of us here don't have experience with the IS you own --- the 2nd Gen IS forum may be more appropriate.
IMHO though, Nav firmware and map data has nothing to do with iPod functionality -- the firmware that would need to be updated is within the headunit or other "not normally customer accessible" portion of your IS, and it's level and updates can only be seen and performed by Lexus personnel. Check again if you haven't, over on the 2nd Gen IS forum and perhaps someone there can be more specific and help with your IS. Good luck with your resolution.
