Default How long b4 discount on Rx330?

As there are probably 25+ people on the waiting list at my dealership, It is expected that everyone of them will be paying Sticker Price for the Rx330. Does anyone know how long, typically, you should expect to pay sticker for a new model year? We'd like to purchase a car by september at the latest (would love one now) but would love to pay less than the $40k that they are asking

Unhappy It may be a long wait....

Judging by current interest in the model, and sales record of the 300, expect a minimal discount from list price in 2+ years. YMMV The introduction of a new "performance" version with a larger powerplant, or the debut of the hybrid may change that estimate. Lexus is not known for offering deep discounts - however some "bargains" may appear on the RX 300 in the near future as dealers move out remaining stock. Several on this forum have reported getting good prices on '03s.

Would invoice be a good deal on an RX300 with NAV?

Default No

I don't think anyone is paying invoice on the RX300 anymore - with or without NAV. I am sure you can get a better deal - although I don't know how long the inventory will last.

Talking

Could be sooner than 2 years. When I bought wifey her RX, it was a June purchase on a vehicle introduced in April, as I recall. Once the supply pipe was full and the waiting list emptied, they were willing to come off about 10% w/o any real push on my part. Granted the 330 is very eagerly anticipated, but Lexus is going to supply a bunch, too.

What kind of prices are people paying for Rx300? Should I expect to pay less than invoice b/c 330 is now out and our dealer has a bunch on the lot?

Invoice is too high. I got my 2001 RX300 AWD for $1000 under invoice back in July 2001. It should be a similar or better situation now with the inventory left over. Better hurry though if you want to find the exact one you want - I'd imagine the 03's are going pretty fast now. Good Luck!

Default About $1000 below invoice

We got a 03 RX300 in January.
We paid about $850 below invoice (FWD with premium+ package + odds and ends).
We did not even haggle (was an internet quote).
I suspect that you can even get a better price since the 330 finally debuts and also
the economy does not look too exciting.

I guess i am cheap - can't see myself paying msrp for any cars in this kind of economic climate.

A lot will depend on your geographic location. You'll likely find a better deal sooner in CA. When I was shopping for my GS, the demand was still really high (it had only been out 11 months). But after shopping dealers, I was able to get it at $900 over invoice. Bottom line, the RX330 is the "it" vehicle right now. But wait about 9-12 months, and you'll find a dealer willing to deal.
