Default Brakes Revisited

So, my 04 needs new rotors. They have been turned once and are getting the heated warped sensation again. I bought some brake stuff from R1concepts for my 09 XB, they are factory sized cross drilled and slotted rotors with new pads. I really like them. I am considering just getting slotted rotors for the RX, but I wonder if the warping issue is only with the stock brake rotors or down the road are the aftermarket rotors going to develop the same issue because of the vehicle's braking dynamics.?

Best approach is torquing the wheel bolts in a star pattern with a torque wrench when the vehicle is 'cold'.

/\ /\ /\ /\ What he said. I've had drilled rotors on two different RX since '06 with never an air gun and never a problem. 76 pounds with a torque wrench in a star pattern will keep those rotors fresh as a daisy.

Okay, I understand doing the torquing, but is that an issue with the factory rotors, especially if I wasn't the person to torque the wheels originally. Like having the tire shop doing the torquing when they installed the new tires.

Let the tire shop do their thing. When done, redo them yourself, the sooner the better.

Well, it's been nearly 5200 miles since having the tires replaced, yes it is about that time to have them rotated anyway. Would this help the vibrations or brake pedal pulse that's occurring now during heavy braking down from freeway speeds most of the time.

Might be worth a try but warping is usually a product of heat, wear and uneven pressure and it's probably too late on these rotors.
