Hi guys. I want to remove a mirror cover that I installed many years ago. It is like a painted plastic glued to the original cover by adhesive strips. Do you have any tips please? Thanks

A possible suggestion would be to take some GooGone in a hypodermic needle and apply it around the top seam, it might run down between the 2 points of contact, eventually the adhesive will loosen.
Mineral spirits might work too, don't use anything that'll chemically melt the plastic.

What about heating the mirror cover with a hair dryer.

I would try heating it up slowly...watch the heat and pull gently...the adhesive should give

Ooppss, sorry it will not be easy and you might be sorry what you will find...

Had the same happen on my CRV, stuck a mirror cover. Chrome faded, when I took them off, it actually scratched my side mirror. The fit was not perfect.

I removed ones similar from a ram a few days ago..I used a plastic putty knife and goof off.... spray some goof off
the best you can and then star to pry it careful...mine came alright no scratches or damged...my covers had adhesive strips for sure...another kind of glue I would not know if my method would work.

whatever you do completely tape off the rest of the casing so you don't scratch it. i agree with the hairdryer and heating just take it slow. once you get one tiny corner loose it should pull off slowly. and as you lift immediately use tape or cloth to protect exposed area so you don't harm it also. this is when you'll usually scratch surface.

another thing that you could do is get some fishing line slip it thru the crack, and in a sawing motion go back and forth sliding thru it...this should help it separate from the adhesive.
