Replacement RX 330 upgraded crossbars needed
Hello new friends. Just bought 2004 RX 330 w/130,000 miles on it. Still trying to adjust from my Ford F 250 Supercab. Already executed the tow hitch fiasco. I've discovered all 4 plastic pins on my crossbars are broken and Lexus will not cover them even though they were broken during warranty with the last owner. I'm trying to find out if they replaced the cheap plastic pins with something stronger. I seem to recall reading in this forum some of you received the replacements from Lexus under warranty but decided not to utilize the roof rack. So I'm looking for least expensive way (I'm semi-retired on early Social Security...) to replace my broken ones because Lexus won't sell me just the replacement pins which appear to be easily removed and replaced. Thanks for any assistance you can offer. Sonoma (Where all winos go to ferment...) Gary

If you can't score some used crossbars you might want to check out the Sewell Lexus site: http://sewellparts.com/
You can log in with your Club Lexus identification and receive various discounts. Depending upon the part it can be substantial.
I can tell you that the plastic parts in the crossbar have been problematic as your previous owner's experience indicates. My RX is an '09 and the crossbars were replaced under warranty also. The SA told me that he's seen quite a few fail although he scolded me for being heavy-handed and breaking them. Unfortunately I believe they are serviced as a unit so individual component pieces may not be available.
Oh - almost forgot - welcome aboard!

Or go nekkid, take them out, get a kit for rackless conversion from the same place as stated above. Good luck.
