Are ballast afs specific?
Looking to buy a ballast for my rx330 with afs, was just wondering if it matters if it is afs or non afs, or are all ballast the same for my car?

As far as I know AFS is just servo that rotate the and ECU programming, it has nothing to do with the ballast.
If you buy OE ballast they are the regular 55Watt Ballast
If you buy the aftermarket ones, they are mostly 35Watt Ballast unless specified

Can you please let me know if your ebay Ballast worked for you? I am also in the same situation. I ordered one from the ebay. The first time I purchased the Xentec one. But then I found that it is not compatible with the RX330 ballast plugging. So now I purchased the Denso one from eBay. It looks same as RX330 in photo. Waiting for the part to arrive.
Also I was wondering the same if it will work with my headlights since I have AFS. Will ballast control AFS rotation?
Thanks
Dave.

NO I was wrong, stock is 35Watt, 4300K is factory standard, 5000K is really max you go to see anything clear on the road, anything beyond that, you won't be able to see much. I however now have 75Watt hyper ballast retrofit on my headlight and retain AFS on my RX now

With 6K for lowbeam, you can see something but not much and 8K for fog is pretty much a color show, some of the users on the forum uses 3000K which is yellowish like typical fog light color or 5K which is True light color.
Sure, you can email the retrofitter that did this for me and see, mind you his rates are not cheap

What part of Cali are you io ? I'm at the East Bay Berkeley area, if you are close by, you are welcome to take a look at the headlights in person. As far as cost, it's all up to the retrofitter and you and what you are looking into getting. I believe his basic project cost is at around $2500 because of his vast portfolio and he is known for making your retrofit factory looking.
