Bought my first Lexus... never again.

I didn't read the entire thread. But I just want to add that CPO cars are not the cherry of them all. I purchased my 04 Acura TL 3 years ago CPO. The one thing that paid for itself has been the tranny getting replaced. But after my warranty I've had bulbs burning out in the dash and LED board going bad on the brake lights. One of the HID ballast failed due to moister and power steering rack had to be replaced. I saved money buy doing all but replacing the power-steering rack myself. I'm picking up a RX400h this weekend for my wife but its not CPO. I'm using the money I'd save for standby in case I need to repair it. Why pay an extra premium just in case something fails, whereas I can pocket the extra money and spend it if it happens.

Look bro, this is NOT Lexus's Fault. The person who owned the RX before you did NOT take care of it. You should get the oil changed every 5,000mi not every 15,000mi. I change my oil every 3,000 mi... You don't buy a used vehicle and expect perfection... GOOD LUCK with it. It's a nice car. BE SURE TO CHANGE THE OIL....

Nowhere in this discussion has anyone mentioned Lexus vs Gm or Ford cars?? Except for one Caddy owner. Maybe I am wrong, but to me there is no comparison for the Lexus. No way, No how, would I even think of buying another Chevy, (unless truck). The dealers have so much double talk, that you can save thousands by just waiting them out, or go to another dealer. Look at the small print in their advertisements. Then you don't know what kind of service you will get. I had bought a new 05 Impala, and the thing was in the shop 10 times in less than 30 months. The whole front end went out from under it. It also lost over half it's value in that time. I must admit that i bought a new 08 impala, and it is much better than the old one. Was my son's present for Earning a full boat ride to college. Actually looking to replace the Impala with an ES350.

Can we lock this thread and let it go after 109 replies? Better to get back to some constructive/informative discussions than all the back and forth bashing.

What's fun about that?
So in summary, change your oil regularly and be careful when buying a used car. And I second your motion.

Sorry for your loss but it is not the Lexus' brands fault. "Caveat Emptor" should be the motto on every used car purchase. If I were to buy a used Lexus (or any car for that matter), I would buy a "certified" one straight from a reputable dealer of that particular brand.
