Purchased CPO RX350-but it was never registered as CPO with Lexus by the Dealer
Hello Everyone... I'm new here, so please forgive any errors I may have.
I wasn't sure where I should post this question, so I posted it here since I don't see a warranty thread.
Short story is I purchase in April 2013 one of my Lexus dealer service/loaner 2012 RX350 as a CPO vehicle with 18K miles.
I was contacted last week by the General Manager of my dealer where I purchased the car and service it that they needed to speak with me in person. I met with them the next day and they told me that when I purchased the car there was an error on someone's part and that my car was never CPO'd with Lexus. They tried doing it after the fact, but too much time had passed and it cannot be CPO'd now with 45K miles. They offered me the Lexus (not 3rd party) extended warranty for up to 125K miles at no charge. This is a $2400 value. This has to be done before I reach 50K.
Or the other option they have offered is to take off another $2K off another car if I choose to purchase/go back to an ES350 like I had before since I don't love my RX like I did my ES.
All in all this seems like a big screw up on the dealerships end and I don't know if I'm entitled to more than the $2K or should I take it and run??
Thoughts? Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Shannon

if you don't love the rx, trade it. if you're ok with the rx, take the warranty.
i think your dealer is being VERY fair, although the "$2K" off a car they have is probably more negotiable (for more).

I don't believe it can't be certified with 45K miles on it.....says 6 yrs or 70K miles here
......but......why not just take the $125K warranty? that's better than the CPO warranty anyway.
