Electrical Gremlins or Usual Problems?
I just purchased my 04 RX330. I'm having a few issues the dealer that I purchased from isn't having much luck repairing. Any suggestions or letting me know that they're similiar problems would be great.
1. The driver window control unit sometimes works for putting all of the windows down. Dealer replaced one of the switches and now they all work, however the drivers window won't work on the auto feature.
2. The drivers side mirror sometimes will toggle side to side, but sometimes won't. Dealer has "fixed" it twice, but still is intermittent.
3. The sunroof won't open or close automatically. My GS300 always did. Also, if I close the sunroof after it has been on tilt, it will close but if I hold it too long, it will just re-tilt open. If the sunroof is open and I close it and hold it too long, it will close and then go into the tilt feature.
The dealer gave me some line about there being resets on the windows and mirror and not to worry about it. If they are resetting themselves, I'd like to know why.
Any thoughts other than finding another dealer? The next closest dealer is 2 hours away and I don't have that kind of time to take off from work. Thanks.

I would find another dealer.
If that is not possible and you have to deal with these bozos, then I would suggest call the service manager and tell him that their tech has not been able to fix the problems. You would be bringing the vehicle back and park it with them till they fix the problem, while you put miles on their loaner.
Maybe this time they will put a better tech or by luck replace the right piece.
Make sure you get this fixed under warranty.

For the window and sunroof it sounds like it just needs to be reinitialized. It doesn't do this by itself but you have to do it manually so the dealer should have done it for you. This will need to be done every time you disconnect the battery. I believe for the window auto up/down, just roll the window down all the way and hold for a second. Roll the window up all the way and hold for a second. This should do it. Same with the sunroof.
For the other problems sounds like they still need fixing.
