Hey all,

I am in the works of a job on this Lexus that was a family members. I was working on it and was going to replace the transmission, but I also noticed that the old CV axle was broken.
I replaced the axle and seal with new parts, but when I start the car in park, it continues to leak. I have no idea why, it looks all the way in, I have tried hammering the axle in a bit more, but it doesn't budget. Any ideas?

Looks like it is leaking from the tranmission housing seal. Did you compare to the oem one to make sure they matched? May have been damaged during install? How did you install it? When I replaced the one in our old ES350, I used a long wood handle, from a broom, and had the wife gently tap on it with a rubber mallet while I guided the other end around the seal until it settled in place.

Had the same thing happen on a different car, mine was from not having the axle pushed in far enough to hear the "click" sound and seal properly. Do not force it with a big hammer use more finese, as mentioned perhaps a rubber mallet or a piece of wood it is more about finding the proper spot than beating/forcing it in. You will know when it is properly seated

It looks seated. Maybe look at other side to see how it looks there when seated. The mallet I used to seat the seal.
This shaft wont have a c ring at the end if it is passenger side, so shaft should seat in once the c clip is installed in mid bearing bracket. The driver side does have a c clip, which requires some force to seat it properly.
