Problem with Rear Door Switch
Anybody else have any problems with the rear hatch switch?
After disconnecting/reconnecting power, it will open like normal.
When I go to close it, the motor doesnt pull it shut, it just shuts like a normal trunk. Then when I go to press the button on the outside, the motor will not release it. All I can do is use the manual release on the inside of the car.
Is there some way of resyncing the motor/switch on the rear hatch after a disconnect from the battery? I'm wondering if this is how like the power windows don't work after being disconnected from the battery, and how you have to re-initialize them.
Any help would be appreciated.

There was a problem with the power back door computer on the '04, but that was for the computer and big motor that fully opens and closes the door remotely. This sounds like the little motor for that last 1" of closure by the latch.
The way you reinitialize the windows, moonroof, and the full remote open/close of the back door is essentially to operate it through one full cycle, and then the computers figure out where "open" and "closed" are.
I haven't seen any sort of init procedure for that little latch motor... anyone else run into this?
