Default Silly Question

Ok,

Due to unfortunate or fortunate circumstances( however you look at it) I purchased a 2004 RX330 with a12,500 miles.

It has some extras on it and I was curious to know what package they fall under if any of you bought one with similar features. These included : Adaptive front headlights, HIDs, Air assist suspension, 6 disk in dash changer, Rain sensing wipers, and sport shift 5 speed automatic transmission.

I was also curious to know if the sport shift transmission comes on only the two wheel drive or also the all wheel drive, or is it just another option?

Peace

You have the performance package (w/ the sexy rims ). Both drives are available w/ that package.

Default Sexy Wheels?

You mean the Graphite Polished Wheels..?

They are nice if that is the ones that come with this package. Anyone tried putting spacers on their factory wheels, just to push them out to the corners just alittle bit more..for more appeal?

Peace

This is unrelated to the question you asked, but if you don't know the car's history...change the oil and filter immediately. The 3.3L liter V6 in this car is not as unforgiving of extended drain intervals as the 3.0 was before it, but at 12,500 miles, if it is on the original oil and filter, it could still be sludging up and the engine be on borrowed time.
If you bought it from a dealership, though, most likely they changed it before they put the car on the market.

IMHO, spacers sufficient to provide a visual difference in the track of the vehicle are never a good idea. Rims are sized to place the center of the load over the wheel bearing (rear) or between the bearings (front). Moving the centers outward displaces the load path outwards, resulting in the load being transferred to the outer bearing. Two or three millimeters (typical for suspension clearance on some tire/rim combinations) is not critical, but ten or twenty will likely lead to problems.

A secondary effect of spacers is to alter the suspension geometry subtly, swinging the wheel through a slightly wider arc in jounce and rebound. A bit of negative camber can be dialed out to compensate for the static condition, but in full travel, the geometry could get a little wonky. An extreme example of this effect can be seen by following any ricer for a few blocks down an undulating road.

Default Stuff

Yeah, well I did think about other safety factors with putting spacers on. I like the wheels that are on it, I just don't think they are wide enough.

And it was a Certified Used from a Lexus Dealer so I am not worried about all the little things involving maintenance and stuff, I made sure to ask and clarify that they did all the things needed.

I love some of the extra features this package offers. Anyone with the adaptive headlights , really notice them move when you go around corners and bends..?

Oh well, I have one issue, I wish the roof racks would come off I never was a fan of them. And since they don't come off, it is ok so I can just put my surfboards on top though I am not a fan of that either...lol. Anyway.
But other than that so far this RX is very impressive compared to my '02 RX

We have the Performance Package as well. In town, I don't think you'll notice the adaptive headlights at all. However, late at night on dark twisty roads, there is a definite benefit.

Yeah ... I really notice the AFS even just turning into my apartment complex at night ... it's supposed to depend on your speed whether they work so I'm assuming they generally do it when I'm stopping quicker to turn. Not really sure HOW much benefit they provide really, but it's kind of cool I guess.
