Default Replaced front door actuator, strange behavior?

The better half drives a 2001 RX300. So as a birthday present I wanted to fix her failed drivers side actuator. I rarely drive the Lexus and not familiar with what is normal. Depending on how things go I could be a hero or in the dog house, so your help is apprecited.

Followed this tutorial the lock actuator fix:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...-write-up.html

Was running late. Wanted to try without putting door panel back. Just plugged in the controls for locking doors and controls for windows. At first, with key in all doors tried to lock, then opened. I did have door slightly open. Maybe that is normal.

I came in to post for a solution, then decided I better try it with the bottom door light connected. This time I closed the door and it worked. Window seemed to work then stopped and I had no power to controls for lock and door. Then things started working again. All the time I am hearing a humming sound toward front of the engine. I am tired and have a long day tomorrow, so thought I better get some ideas so I do not cause more problems than I have. Thanks.

I would just start by re-seating the connector to the switches.

I did that the second time and it did seem to work better. I am also going to check battery connection. It seemed like power was intermitant. Since I have door panel off I will also check connections to acuator to ensure they are seated.
