A couple of days ago while driving my VSC and track off lights came on along with my check engine light. The car was running perfectly fine before this happened. Yesterday I noticed the car was acting funny while switching gears. It would rev really high before shifting if I went above 40 mph and it was doing the same thing today. After I left work it was still acting weird with the shifting gears and then just completely stopped accelerating and I had to coast into my garage. The car turns on still but wont accelerate, it just revs up the engine almost as if the car is in neutral but it's in drive. Does anyone know what the issue may be? I'm planning on having it towed in the morning but I am hoping this wont be extremely expensive.

Sounds like a transmission issue. Have you checked the fluid?
