Question about FM transmitters and power antenna
New here, and I have searched extensively for the answer to my question, but I've never found a reliable answer.
I just bought an '01 RX300 (without nav) from a relative. I bought one of these ( ) because it worked great in my sister's truck (I bought it for her) and if I want to listen to radio, it's NPR and they have an app, so all I need the antenna(e) to pick up is the transmitter inside the car. Currently, mine sounds like a garbled mess on any FM band because of all the interference from local stations. Anything over about 1kHz comes out as static, no matter if it's at 88.5 or 104.3. Would it improve if I disconnect the power to the rear antenna motor, and if yes how can I do that easily? Is there a way to rig a charging system with an AUX input, or a bluetooth option? I really do like having my phone connect from my pocket, but the sound quality I'm getting now makes it useless for anything other than hands-free phone use.
