Default Headlight bulb help! :)

My right headlight died today...
Any suggestion for a new D2R bulb?
Also, how do I replace the bulb properly?
Thank you!

This is the main bulb? The first time I replaced them, I got the expensive ones. They didn't last very long, so next time I just used the regular Sylvanias I got at a discount store. As I recall, the base just twists out with about 1/4 turn counterclockwise and the bulb pulls out of the base. Don't touch the new bulb with your fingers. A nice, easy job, but you'll get your sleeves dirty! You might as well replace both together.

For filament type, you have regular halogen and then super_whites and ultra_whites. The super_whites and ultra typically glow brighter and have shorter life. The packaging has the details about expected life and brightness.

Just make sure the alternates do not draw more current or produce more heat [should be looking for efficiency -> more Lux per watt .. as long as watts are the same you get more light]

All halogens dont like body oil. Best is not to touch the glass. One can use plastic/latex/nytryle (sp?) gloves or hold from the plastic base. If you accidentally touch the glass of the bulb, use rubbing alcohol to wipe the glass down.

I have always had better luck (longer life) from bulbs bought at the dealership. [Just my experience], but had to pay above market rate.
