Default HELP - Bulb fell in Running Board Housing

I was trying to replace the bulbs in the running board and the first bulb I tried to replace when reinserting the bulb came loose and fell in the housing.

Is there anyway to remove the running board light assembly or does anyone have any ideas as to how to get the bulb out of there?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't seen these bulbs, but if they have a steel base, a magnet may help.

I didn't fully twist and secure into the socket, and subsequently dropped the amber turn signal bulb/DRL (in Canada) INTO the headlight housing about a month ago. After some swearing and cursing thinking I was going to have to pull the bumper and headlight housing, I was able to extract the bulb using my shopvac, sucked the bulb right out of the hole in the rear of the housing! You might have the same luck if you can get the hose to the bulb opening, and give the housing a few good knocks to bounce the bulb around.

Been there, done that. A magnet worked for me.

How do you change the running board bulb anyway?

The magnet woked! I am changing out the running board lights to LED, and because the LEDs are a little larger than the 194 bulbs, the LED may fall into the housing while inserting. It's a good ide to have a magnet nerby when changing out these bulbs.

Reach up under the running board and follow the wire leading to the bulb then twist and pull it out.

Got an '04 LX recently. We're excited to head to CO next week. I'm extra exctied because I'm getting Wildpeaks before we leave. As I did with my '00, I now need to remove the running boards. The '00 was easy aside from some stubborn, oddly placed bolts. With the lights down there on the '04, is there anything special I need to be aware of before I proceed, or is it easy to figure out as you go? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You're in the GX section, but I'm guessing they are largely the same for this job.

You should be able to tape up the connectors, and ziptie them up and out of the way.
