Mike- that would be the one. I have used that actuator from that company and they worked fine. Very powerful. I would make a suggestion for 1 small change from the directions (with pictures) of one of the installs that I did. PM me if you're interested. It really isn't a lot of work at all.

Python- I would say you and your Sears mechanic didn't bother to read the VERY GOOD directions as to EXACTLY how to do the piggyback install. Much easier than trying to replace the original flat motor, to say nothing of trying to locate one. Next time it would be GOOD to read the instructions!!! I can't help but wonder why I bothered to post the help that I did when it said CLEARLY not to touch the original stuff AT ALL, but simply follow the directions for the piggyback. Oh well.
I've got that driver's doorlock actuator problem and would LOVE to see "the VERY GOOD directions as to EXACTLY how to do the piggyback install" of the $5 actuator. I'm real good at these kinds of things, but would appreciate knowing how it has been successfully done already so I won't need to reinvent the whole process. I've tried several old links to this mystery piece and they all went nowhere. Is there a fresh link to those instructions?
Thank you!!

If your door lock actuator isn't working just replace it. Carparts.com has them for less than $20 for the whole assembly. I've replaced 2 so far (rear doors, passenger and driver), and it's about a 30 minute job.

Here is the how to remove the door panel. I'll see if I can find another link to those directions. I have done it 2x now. Much easier than screwing around with the OE type fix for this common failure IMO.

Important info: In the loom that goes across the door back to the lock- the blue/red tracer is the lock wire and the blue/yellow tracer is the unlock wire. If the piggyback lock assy you bought has the green and blue wires, the green is the lock and the blue is the unlock.

Why would do all that work when you can straight swap the actuator with an OEM fit one for less than $20?
Just curious...maybe I'm thinking this is a different issue?

Before the cheap knock off ones were out there it was for cost. But now the $20 ones are often defective and you spend a ton more time trouble shooting things. The other reason is many people have trouble getting everything back together correctly and end up creating new problems.

I see. The 2 I ordered have worked perfectly, but I can definitely understand how aftermarket parts can sometimes be defective. Rigging it up as in the photos is a very creative solution.

Also before folks finding out the replacement motor [this goes back many years] the piggy back was the only solution.

THANK YOU FOR THE EXCELLENT INFO AND PHOTOS!! This should make it easy. Can't do it until m wife brings the car home next week, and I will hear about what a pain it's been to have to use the key in the lock for all this time (one week).
