I have the same problem as you do. I think it's a wire or two loose in the door somewhere that connects to the locks. The difference with my problem is that it's in the left-rear-passenger door. Sometimes it won't unlock/lock with the remote and with the power controls inside the vehicle. Also, when I press lock on my key remote it will lock all the doors but the car won't beep (the sound it makes when the alarm is armed). I think I'm going to have it checked out soon. Tired of always checking if all my doors are functioning properly when I lock the car.

Do a search for door lock malfunction or lock failure. You'll find a ton of info on the subject- on this forum and the other Lexus forum. My bet is that your lock motor is shot. Does the drivers door lock with the inside lock button? If not, take the door panel off and jump juice to the lock hot and ground wires to see if it works then. If not, most likely it is the tiny motor that is simply worn out. There is a way to fix it cheap with aftermarket lock assy. for about $5. to $10. It will NOT be cheap if you replace with original Lexus lock assy. Do a search- you will find ALL you need to know in detail. If you need more help come on back and you will find plenty of help here. Good Luck!

Unfortunately, to do a search for "door lock malfunction" (for example) returns every post that was ever made on this forum containing the word "door", the word "lock" or the word "malfunction". So if you want your door painted or you have an engine malfunction, you're in like Flint! The search engines on most fora are pretty worthless unless your looking for "supercalifragelisticexpialidocious"!
I agree it's frustrating to answer the same questions over and over again but until forum software comes with better search engines, both newbies and old timers will benefit from the help they get on places such as this. However, there was a post very recently on augmenting the OEM lock motor with an aftermarket motor (actuator).

From what I've been reading, there are two schools of thought regarding an inexpensive fix. One is mechanically coupling a new actuator in tandem. The other, mostly described on the GS forum, is to take out and repair the original actuator. It sounds like both will work.
