RX300 : KYB GR2 install follow up
Been kinda busy, so after installing the rears -- no time to do the fronts until
today.
With the rears installed, it may a nice difference in ride quality (less pronounced
diving). Made the ride slightly firmer -- but -- definitely a great improvement.
Only managed to do 1 front shock today! Removal was a peice of cake BUT
the front spring uses less coils. It's extremely difficult to compress and it
has about 1.5" of preload on it. THank you Toyota! Definitely either have
good toolset OR lots of friends to help push down on the spring. I am a skinny
guy -- so I don't have the force ability to get that darn spring to compress
(no local friends either )
Anyhow, even w/ 1 new shock on front -- ride is firmed up even more.
Rides nice and assuring now. I read on KYB's literature that GR2s
are about 10-15% stiffer than OEM... could be the difference?
My shocks only have 57k miles on em -- thinking about selling them cheap!
Any takers?

KYB GR2's
Just curious..do you have to do an alignment after replacing your struts/shocks? Been considering an upgrade to the KYB's all the way around on my 2000 RX300. Thanks for posting your info...KG

I bought them from importrp.com -- I think it was about $75/each.
I don't know if the shocks are the same for 4WD -- mine is FWD.
Of course you have to do an alignment -- mine goes in
for it on Friday.
You will definitely tweak the camber which does throw off the
toe setting as well.
