Back up camera fix on 2013 RX 350
I thought my backup camera was pretty neat, until I started seeing other cars that had better graphics. I found having the extension lines on the monitor was extremely helpful when backing up using just the camera. My son has a long straight driveway, and I found it took extra concentration, and very slow speed to keep my car centered all the way to the street, and to keep from hitting the mailbox.
I tried making my own fix for that by setting up markers (cones, or small boxes, or bottles etc.) directly behind my wheels, about a full car length away. I then put it in reverse, to activate the camera, and marked small dots (with a felt tip pen) where the tires would be, at the markers. I also put a dot right in the center as well.
This has worked extremely well, and the pen marks are unobtrusive, and could be easily erased if needed. Since I can't see much by turning and looking out the back tailgate window, this has had a huge increase in my confidence backing up. Hope it helps others.

Thank you for this excellent tip. I think it will help many. You are lucky to have a full screen for the back-up camera. Our screen is postage stamp size in the mirror of our 2011RX. It's only good for seeing things close to the back of the car, not for reversing. Good for you.

Windows and mirrors for me. By the time the warning messages clear and the camera loads I usually am half way down the driveway anyway. It is nice for checking cross traffic in tight parking spots though..

We are in our seventies, so turning and looking is difficult, not to mention poorer vision. Even so, visibility out the back of the RX is very limited. I can see the end of the driveway fine, but anything on the ground up to forty feet, is not visible. If a bike, or child was right behind the car, we would not see them without the camera. Or...if we were backing up and they were to run behind the car, we would not see them either by looking backward. Love the camera. Understand newer models will have cameras around the entire car.
