RX maintenance

Keep in mind that the lexus service recommendations come in bundles, and you can save alot of money by doing things al a carte.
Things like oil changes, tire rotations, and cabin air filters changes are extremely easy DIYs if you make a small 1 time investment in some decent tools. After that you can go to Toyota for the oil filter kit and buy cabin air filters online for less than it would cost to buy those parts at a lexus dealer.

The 2 free maintenance are specific at 5,000 and 10,000 miles.
My brother made a mistake and thought it was 2 complimentary "whenever" so he decided to skip the 5,000 ( since no oil changes here, simply tire rotation and a bunch of Visual inspection) and went in for the 10,000 mile service. It was his first visit BUT it was counted as the 2nd complimentary.
i normally do my oil changes/ air filters on all our Lexus and Toyota cars/SUVs.
aside from being cheaper, i have confidence in the work performed and i know first hand that the right Oil (0W-20) was used.
You will only need to invest on some tools. i don't even think you need a ramp.
The only reason i'm using it is i have one already.

Interesting that you can do this. Never thought they would just let you bring in your own oil and filter. Is it difficult to do an oil change yourself? I normally do all my oil changes and figured maintenance on this vehicle won't be that bad.

I remember back in CT and now in CA, they WILL not install/use a 3rd party product brought by the customer.
They ( Toyota Service Dept) will only use what they have. OR they will do the ordering themselves.
Service advisor said, it's protocol for them. That's the only way they will honor warranty claims after a work is done.

I dont have any tools to use and its just easier for me to pay and have them do it. Plus they let you stand there and watch them do everything. I also like how they allow us to drive our own cars into the ExpressLube bay. Ive been going to them for over 13 years with my previous cars so they also know me.
