Navigation - Interstate highway exits
The right side of my navigation screen is filled with exits and distances to the next one, usually four at a time when driving on interstates. Does anyone know how to turn them off? I've scanned the Navigation manual, but haven't found anything.
Thanks,
Neal

Neal, no other response yet, so try this. I tried it in my stationary RX, but IIRC the option does not come on until I have Nav running. Anyway, I suspect from your description you have the "turn list" on. It's an optional secondary display on the right of the Nav display, that can be eliminated or replaced with other info.
To do so:
- Press the Map button (on-top/in-front of the controller)
- Click on the "Map Mode" icon on the left side
- If "Turn List" is ON, that is your issue. Select another option on that same screen for how you want your Nav displayed.
Hope that helps, otherwise, take a quick photo, and I'll try to recreate and give you instructions when I get back from honey-do's tomorrow.

...and Neal, David brings up a good point ... My guess on steps to try was based on my 2013 (as I didn't look closely enough at your profile indicating you have a 2009). We know the 2013 had at least subtle changes to the interface compared to previous 2010-2012 MYs also part of the Gen 3 RX family.
I frankly didn't consider a previous 2nd Gen RX if thats what you do in fact have, since you posted in the 3rd Gen forum. David's manual reference is likely closer to your reality... From what I quickly see on the Lexus.com site for a 2009 RX, look in the 2009 Nav manual around pp 70-90 for specifics on the "turn list". It was called the same thing back then ... Just how you enable/disable it appears different than current models.
...and David, TU!

Thanks, Bert and David. I do have a 2013 RX350. I just traded for it Wednesday and haven't changed my profile. I did try the steps Bert gave, but the "Turn List" was not on, so that didn't help.

On page 93 in the Navigation System Owner's Manual, the freeway exit information screen is displayed and information shown. I haven't found anything about how to turn it off, though.

I'll see if I can come up with something later today or early tomorrow.
In the meantime, congrats on your new RX, and if all else fails, give a call to your dealer and ask for their Technology Specialist -- he/she is there to help owners with exactly this sort of question.

Neal, I had a few minutes before I had to leave so sat in my garage and tried a bunch of things. No solid success.
The options to turn off what you are seeing are clearly in the menus I originally pointed you to, but in my case are grey'd out. I set a navigation destination, but didn't really start it since I didn't move the car (have to stick by my landline waiting for a call to leave at the moment), and the options remain grey'd out. My theory is, you can try three things:
1) Once you are on the road or the route destination really has begun, try clicking the little "circle with arrow at the bottom" icon on the right of your turn list screen... I'm not sure if that's a toggle button, but p93 of the manual gives me the impression it may be. Maybe not. I sure seem to remember turning this display off one time after taking delivery of my RX450h, but for the life of me I can't remember what I did more than a year ago that single time...
2) Get on the road with route destination really going, then try clicking the Map Mode button and see if you can then turn off the "Turn List". I bet so.
3) Last option, and I really don't think the Nav is this smart with it's menu system, is to get on a freeway (interstate), THEN click the Map Mode button and see if you can turn off the "Turn List". Manual references ellude to "interstate" in a couple of places as it relates to this Turn List display, so maybe there is something to that. I doubt it, but it's my last thing I'd try.
...and if none of that works, DO call your dealership and talk to the Technology Specialist. It's his/her job to help you, and I'd really love to know the answer myself. Good luck.

Thanks, Bert. I will print this out and give it a try. However, the freeway exits are showing up when I don't have a route logged. I talked with Lexus of Albuquerque yesterday, and the technical person was supposed to call me, but did not. I have an appointment with them on Monday, so will try to talk to the tech rep then.

OP, I look forward to hearing what the Technology Specialist has to say, but I think I've recreated the situation on my 2013... As suspected, the trick is a Nav Route has to be underway, not just input say while sitting in your garage, for some options to be selectable. Here's what I did:
- Was several miles from home
- Clicked Map Mode while no navigation route was active. "Turn List" is grey'd out.
- I input my destination for my home, and take off. At a stop light, I click Map Mode, and voila, I can click "Turn List" and it comes on the right side of the Nav screen while I'm driving along... I think that is what you are describing and wanting to turn off.
- To turn it off, the trick is, you must select ANOTHER icon on the screen that appears when you click Map Mode, e.g. "Map Only" or any of the other options that are highlighted. The options do not toggle -- you select another one on how you want the Nav display to appear.
Hope that helps. Give it a go. I've had the Turn List off, on, and back off where I prefer it in the past 20 minutes.

The technical support person at Lexus of Albuquerque fixed my problem!! If I am reading your post above correctly, you are talking about freeway exits when in the Route mode.
My problem is/was all the time when on a freeway or interstate, even with route selection not on.
Step by step:
Click Map Mode
Click Other information
Click Freeway Exit List
This was done while driving on the interstate. If not driving, i.e. in the garage, etc., the Freeway Exit List will be grayed out.
Anyhow, I'm all happy now. The exit list is off all the time.
My next complaint is the brakes on my 2013 RX350.
