I was doing research and alot of people have used Katzkin. Many dealers go to upholsters and they use this to replace the fabric
That very well may be true. Just that a current model RX350 without leather is a truly rare bird and there is not much to go on. Perhaps 99+% of those here at CL already have their RX with leather interiors from the factory.
With leather the norm for the RX, you'd take a BIG hit on resale/trade-in if you convert to cloth. Unless you plan on keeping it a long time...
FWIW, I was told by two dealers that RX's with cloth interiors are extremely rare -- one salesman who has worked for Lexus over 12 years at a couple of dealerships, said he has only had 1 in their dealerships all that time. The other salesman told me a story they accidentally ordered a cloth RX a few years back, when it arrived they thought it would sit on the lot forever, and to their surprise, their phone rang off the hook with other dealers who had customers that wanted that RX with cloth. It was rerouted and sold soon thereafter.
I agree with LexBob2 -- given the rarity of cloth interiors, if it's in good shape, I'd consider selling it or at least giving that a go, then buy a newer one with leather. OP, good luck though in whatever you decide!
