Dealership required for service on leased 2010 RX350?
Is the dealership required to perform service on a leased 2010 RX350? My RX has been dealer maintained since new, receiving complimentary service (oil changes, 10k service, etc) as Lexus has been picking up the tab (dealer gifts as a new car owner). I am responsible for any maintenance after 15k leaving me responsible for an overdue 20k service (car has 21k miles).
Is it a requirement to have a leased car serviced at a Lexus dealer? I am around 1000 miles overdue for an oil change and NEED to take a 600 mile trip tomorrow in the RX. Is it possible to have someone other than a Lexus dealer perform service/change oil without violating the lease terms? If so, I might be able to perform future service outside of Lexus, possibly saving hundreds on the work compared to an authorized dealer.
I'd appreciate the help, chances are I won't be able to get an appointment early AM at my local dealer. My local dealer is closed leaving me unable to question the service dept. about my particular situation.
Thanks in advance guys!
