Default Trailer hitch questions for 2010 RX350

where is the best place to get the hitch?
The lexus oem part is +-$800 at dealer, but I am a little skeptical about going with just a u-haul hitch. I tow a 20' boat, fully loaded with gas and gear,I'm about 3,000 lb, and pushing the 3500 tow capacity, so I want to make sure it is strong enough and reliable.
Any recomendations? Thanks!!

Default Buy Lexus

I hate to say it, but with the number that close -- Buy the over priced Lexus part. I think I paid about $750 installed. There were 2 hours of labor.

I am looking for a hitch right now too; but I've heard good things, many on this site, about etrailer.com. I've heard others say that the service is great; the directions look easy to follow, and the hitch is $176 with free shipping. There is a plug and play harness if you have the Towing option on your RX, or a kit available for $60 otherwise.

My RX does have the tow pkg, got a price local for the curt hitch w/4000 lb rating for $295, not including tax or install. I can install it, thats not the issue.

Default Hitch

Hey, guys
I'm new to the forum just bought the 2010 RX350.
I have a question, my dealer charges $974 installed, I wasn't sure about getting them at almost $1000 but sales person told me that it's going to be welded. and on and on and on about there quality, so I got them thinking that should me better than after market. And today I found out that the hitch is bolt on and it cost only $467 so I call the dealer they told me that they do not welded on and due to 4hrs labor it $974. Is it really take 4 hrs to put the hitch on? If I would've known it bolt on I could taken to my shop for cheaper labor, because of stupid sales persons I feel like I over paid.
What should I do or it's reasonable deal?
