05 RX330 wheel shake and possible handling issue
Purchased used a month ago, 92k miles probably mostly city.
-Braking is smooth with no wobble in the wheel but I notice a wobble (shake) in the steering wheel driving straight around 30/35 mph.
-Hard to describe but after driving my 2012 Expedition the Lexus seems to handle poorly. Not loose but sloppy, floats like a boat, poor steering response. If it was my truck I might diagnose as front shocks or under inflated front tires.
Thanks, Kevin

Could be axle carrier bushings at one of the rear wheels. They're the two big bushings that connects the lower control arms to the "knuckle" that holds the wheel bearing hub assemblies. Check for side to side movement. Do you have any knocking noise going over road imperfections or bumps?

First, start with something simple. Have the wheels/tires balance checked. If it's only shaky at those speeds, and goes away at other speeds, chances are one or more wheels are out of balance. If so, have them Road Force Balanced by someone with a Hunter machine.
Inspect the tires - sometimes a tire with a broken belt will wobble going down the road.
Lexus suspensions are known for being smushy - especially in the RX. The smushyness should not be excessive of course, but these are heavy vehicles with a suspension tuned for comfort - they don't handle very well to begin with.

I would get a vibration at the steering wheel at 60 MPH for my 05 RX330 AWD, in my case, turned out a u-joint was stiff, lubrication helped, although perhaps I am also due for a front driveshaft balancing.
Since I mainly drive in the city at lower speeds, that will have to wait since driveshaft balancing service isn't offered on the Island I live on.
I would need to pay a $46.00 Bridge Toll to the mainland, $30.00 for fuel & maybe what? around $100.00 for the driveshaft balancing.
A couple of burgers while I'm there, I'm at $200.00 in no time, just to balance a driveshaft.
Just adding another possibility.
