90915-YZZD3 oil filter on RX400H?
Instead of using the standard toyota #90915-YZZD1 for my oil filter on my 3.4 Tacoma, I use the longer 90915-YZZD3 (fits our SC400) since it has more surface area and fits the same.
I've looked at some pics of the underneath of the RX400H and I'm not sure the longer 90915-YZZD3 will fit - has anyone tried this filter yet ?
I have a few of the 90915-YZZD3's in my garage (I purchase a few extra) . If I have to get oem parts, I always order from Autonation Lexus Gulf Freeway in Houston - They charge only $4.21 each so I stock up.
I did a search here and didn't see that anyone had tried using that filter on the 400H.

Go ahead and use the SC400 filters.
This may be a bit unscientific but I looked up Fram oil filters for a 1992 SC400 and a 2007 RX400. Fram says to use their PH3614 on both vehicles.
Lexus does have different part numbers for the SC400 (90915-YZZD3) and the RX400 (90915-YZZG2). I don't know what the difference is (Lexus doesn't document stuff like that). Maybe they paint the filter a different color.
I have a 2007 RX350 and a IS250 which, according to Lexus, require a different filter for each one. The difference between the 2 is that I get an extra o-ring for the RX that does not get used on the IS. FYI - my cars do not use the screw on cartridge oil filter like yours.

Thanks Dennis,
I finished up the oil/filter replacement and can definitely say there's plenty of room in there for the longer 90915-YZZD3 filter.
Next on to changing the transmission fluid...
