RX330 3mz-fe timing belt coming off
I'm having an issue on a timing belt change. The belt won't stay on the idler and cam gear on bank 2. It's working its way off. It won't come entirely off, but it's about 1/4" off the gear on bank 2.
I changed the cam seals, so I wonder if I'm not installing the gears correctly...? They both appear to be exactly the same in every way. I was careful not to switch them when I took them off. Putting them on with the lip towards the head, just like how they came off.
After I install the belt and give it two rotations the belt is working its way off again. It seems like the gear on bank 1 is not close enough to the head, or the gear on bank 2 is recessed. They don't appear to be tweaked and I didn't rank on them to get them on or off. Just stuck a punch into one of the bolt holes that holds timing cover 3 on and the cam bolts came off. I don't have the special cam tool.
No thrust in the cams either. That's about all I can think of for now. Thanks in advance.

double check if you have the alignment pin behind the cam gear matched with the cam. The cam gear will wobble very slightly if off. Also timing will be off as well. Just another thing to look at other than the tensioner mentioned.

Taking a straight edge to the rear cam gear shows they are not parallel. I have taken off and retorqued the gears multiple times different ways. The gap stays the same and that gap is how far the belt comes off.
I checked where the cams sit. The rear cam is out. Is this how it's supposed to be? My measuring device is not perfect, but it's obvious that the cam end is further out.
New tensioner that came with the kit. New tensioner bearing. New water pump. It seems to be the cams, but I can't imagine why.
