RX 330 has clicking sound in driver's dashboard
Hello, I am new today. It was suggested by the Lexus 800 number that I post here for an answer to my problem. My 2005 RX 330 has a clicking sound in the driver's side dashboard. It started out only clicking when the air conditioning is running on cooler mornings (70 degrees) last spring. It went away last winter and came back this spring on cool mornings and now it will click any time of the day. I can however get it to stop if I shut off the air and give it a break. When I bring the vehicle the dealership, I can't duplicate it. I googled this issue and a couple owners say that they it was their a/c servo. they said that the problem is caused by dirt or lack of lubrication and that the heat breaks the lube down and causes the servo voltage to become erratic, causing the servo to "hunt" and generate noise. However, this person said the servo is located behind the glove box and my clicking seems to come from behind the driver's side. Others brought their lexus to the dealership and spent lots of money and the problem wasn't solved. I am trying to avoid the latter.
