The antenna base on my RX is broke past the threads. After looking online for a new base, I can't imagine paying that much unless I had to. Has anyone had any luck with aftermarket antennas? I would like to use this shark fin type http://www.metraonline.com/part/44-UA44, but not sure if it would work. Any thoughts?

Thanks Rainbird. Wish I could see a spec or install sheet. Not exactly sure how it attaches to the existing. It says "using an M screw", but screw it to what? The existing mount is completely shattered where the antenna screws into, just the mount is left.

Can you post a pic? If what's left of the base still has the brass screw hole you are good to go.
